Civilian Response & Casualty Care

Free Training

Imagine having the confidence in knowing what to do if ever faced with the real threat of an active attack upon you and everything you love.

Imagine having a plan and being able to change your mindset into one focused on survival and not filled with fear.

Our goals are exactly this and then some.

The Hooksett Police Department is proud to offer this free training taught by sworn officers, passionate about saving lives, protecting their communities and giving you the tools you need to take control of your own safety.

Law enforcement officers and agencies are frequently requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter or active attack event.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) course, designed and built on the Avoid – Deny – Defend strategy developed by ALERRT at Texas State University in 2004, which provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter/active attacker event or other critical incident.

Topics include the nature and prevalence of active shooter and active attack events; civilian response options of Avoid – Deny – Defend; the stages of human disaster response, and how to improve your response in order to influence survivability; and the role of first responders at a critical incident like an active shooter or active aggressor.

This 2.5 hour training is currently being offered to schools, colleges, businesses, hospitals and places of worship.
